Laura Albanese

Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Tourism and Culture (Culture)

York South-Weston

Laura Albanese is the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Tourism and Culture (Culture).

She was elected to the Ontario legislature in 2007. She is currently the unanimously elected Chair of the Toronto Caucus, the Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs and sits as a member of the Standing Committee on Government Agencies and the Cabinet Committee on Emergency Management. Before joining government, Albanese was an anchor and producer of Italian language news programming on OMNI Television. In 2006, Albanese was named one of 32 Inspiring Canadian Women of Italian Origin by the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Toronto.

Albanese immigrated to Canada from Italy and is proud to serve as a voice for the community of York South-Weston where she has lived for over 30 years. She is married with two adult children.
