6 Questions With Dipika Damerla

  1. What do you like most about your riding?
    There are so many different communities that make up Mississauga East-Cooksville! It’s exciting to be able to experience so many diverse groups of people and learn about their culture and history. It’s a part of what makes Canada and Ontario so great!

  2. What are you looking forward to most at Queen’s Park?
    The opportunities to solve problems in the community and enrich our way of life are what make this job so rewarding. Listening to the concerns and issues of my constituents and then addressing them in the legislature is the most important part of my job.

  3. What inspired you to get into politics?
    I’ve worked in both the public and private sector before, so I know first hand the positive impact the McGuinty government has made for Ontarians. The chance to work for my constituents, and bring that positive role of government to Mississauga East-Cooksville was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up!

  4. What was your favourite part of campaigning?
    It may sound like a cliché but honestly, meeting with the different people of my riding. Knocking on doors and chatting with voters about their various stories and the issues that matter most to them showed me how diverse this riding really is. It really motivated me to want to be the best MPP possible for my constituents.

  5. What is your favourite food?
    There are too many good dishes out there and so many diverse kinds of food available. Why limit yourself to one food? I like them all.

  6. What do you like to do in your free time?
    When I do get a moment of free-time, I like to relax with my family.
