Following a contested nomination between two strong candidates, the Ontario Liberal Party is pleased to announce that Jeewen Gill has been elected as the Liberal candidate in the provincial riding of Windsor-Tecumseh.
“I am proud to be carrying the Liberal banner for our community heading into the upcoming by-election,” Gill said after winning the nomination with the support of the local association. “We can build a team here in Windsor that will make us proud to be Liberal.”
Gill came to Canada from India in 1989 after obtaining two bachelor degrees in Science and Education from Punjab University in Chandigarh, India. He has gained professional experience in both the public and private sectors, serving as the Special Assistant to MP Gurbax Malhi as well as the AKAL Insurance Company and for Homelife Vista Realty in both Toronto and Windsor. In 2006, he founded his own real estate and mortgage company, National Realty Exchange Corporation, which continues to grow today. Jeewen and his wife Kiranjit Kaur chose the Forest Glade area of Windsor as their home in 2000 and live in the heart of Windsor-Tecumseh with their two daughters, Dilraj and Saihaj.
“I have spent the better part of my life in dialogue with the diverse ethnic communities in Windsor,” said Gill. “I want to plug the Liberal Party back into that conversation by getting the Party back in touch with new Canadians.”
The Ontario Liberal Party is pleased to welcome Jeewen to our growing team of candidates and thanks nomination candidate Remy Boulbol for her participation in the nomination race. The hard work and dedication of both candidates helped set the tone for a strong competition and encouraged increased engagement throughout the community.
