Hudak's team needs a little more seasoning in opposition.
Hudak doesn't seem to have a plan other than to undo what the Liberals have done.
Mr. Hudak has launched withering attacks on the record of Mr. McGuinty, portraying Ontario Liberals as wantonly irresponsible tax-and-spenders who have mismanaged the economy.
In fact, Mr. McGuinty has managed through the past recession rather well. Mr. McGuinty sees himself as the education premier, with some justification. He has made good, incremental changes to education, improving standards, with results that will enhance competitiveness and productivity for Ontario.
So, beyond what’s in their platforms, a big part of the next government’s mandate will be to cut costs where it can, protect services where it must and have the judgment to strike the right balance. We've certainly had our differences with the Liberals over the years, and there will likely be more. But the bottom line for voters is determining which party will do the best for Windsor and Essex County. We believe it's the Liberals.
