Gerry Phillips Becomes New Minister Of Energy And Infrastructure McGuinty Government Pushes Forward With Plan To Create Jobs

November 9 – Gerry Phillips was sworn in as Minister of Energy and Infrastructure this morning.

Minister Phillips takes over leadership of the government's Green Energy Act. The act will create 50,000 jobs for Ontarians in its first three years by encouraging investments in clean and renewable sources of energy such as wind, solar, hydro, biomass and biogas. He was previously Minister of Energy from October 2007 to June 2008.

Minister Phillips will also continue to implement the government's $32.5 billion infrastructure investment plan. The plan is creating jobs and helping build stronger communities through the construction and repair of roads, bridges, hospitals and public transit.
