I would like to congratulate the successful candidates in today’s byelections.

Ottawa West-Nepean’s new MPP, Bob Chiarelli, is a dedicated and experienced public servant who will make a great addition to our Liberal team at Queen’s Park. Together, Bob and I will work to improve the quality of life for Ottawa families and build a foundation for jobs and economic growth.

I also want to congratulate Steve Clark on his win in Leeds-Grenville. And I thank Stephen Mazurek, our Liberal candidate, for his commitment to our Liberal team and for running a strong and positive campaign.

It takes courage to put your name forward as a candidate. To everyone who ran in these byelections, I offer my thanks on behalf of all Ontarians.
